Totally Locally campaign

The Town Council have recently approved supporting the ‘Totally Locally’ campaign, to help the local economy. Totally Locally is the UK’s biggest grassroots high street campaign, looking to support truly independent businesses of all types. A group of independent local business have come together to instigate a Totally Local campaign in Bingley, with the aim of the scheme to drive up footfall and spend, and to recognise the power a small spend can deliver for the local economy.

The Town Council have agreed to provide monetary support of up to £500 to assist with the Totally Locally campaign in the financial year 2023-24.

Bingley Town Council Networking Event

On Saturday 16th September, we welcomed many of our local community and voluntary groups to Cardigan House for an open networking event. Over thirty people joined us and it was wonderful to see a variety of groups who all had the same aim – to serve the people of Bingley. From church groups, music groups, Councillors, food banks, walking groups and even the local Police Community Support Officer, there was a range of people from all backgrounds who all spoke about what they would like to see happen in Bingley in the coming years. All groups spoke about the current struggle for volunteers, and the need for younger people to get involved. You will hopefully see some collaborations as groups put their heads together as work begins to try and increase the number of volunteers and funding so more work can be done.

Bingley Business Expo

On Wednesday 27th September, we attended this year’s Bingley Business Expo which was held at Bingley Arts Centre. We were joined by many other businesses based in Bingley and the Aire Valley and it was wonderful to see everyone come together. It was also attended by the Mayor of Bradford.
