Bingley

About Bingley

Bingley is an attractive market town in the river Aire valley and a key destination on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal.

Now with a population of around 20,000, it traces its origins back to Saxon times and was granted a market charter by King John in 1212. The town’s textile industries flourished during the industrial revolution and Bingley is currently home to over 700 businesses of varying sizes.

Attractions include the famous Five Rise Locks, the well-regarded Bingley Little Theatre, the popular Bingley Music Live festival and some grand Yorkshire countryside; see our Business and Tourism pages for more information.
