The Local Government Boundary Commission has undertaken an electoral review of Bradford Council, with draft recommendations proposing new boundaries for the council wards in Bradford. A 10 week consultation on these proposals will run until 5th February 2024.
These proposals can be viewed, the maps explored and comments made at the following website: https://www.lgbce.org.uk/all-reviews/bradford…
The Town Council would like to encourage residents to share their thoughts on this with us prior to the deadline of 5th February 2024 to allow the Town Council to put these views forward in our official response.
Please use the comment section here or email us at enquiries@bingleytowncouncil.gov.uk with your thoughts.
Thank you
Good evening ,
The explanation given in the ICEBCE review of boundaries states that this Is happening due to “ inequality in Bingley ward ” but does not explain what these inequalities are.
What are the differences in numbers with the various boundary changes?
Before responding I would appreciate an explanation as to what these are so that I can make an informed decision.
Thank you
Hi, thank you for the comment. The ‘inequality’ in the Bingley ward means that the ward as it currently stands is too large compared to other wards, hence the reason for the proposed changes, which will make the ward smaller. However we do not have any of the figures involved – you will need to contact the Boundary Commission directly to request these.
Thank you
I understand there is a consultation on 24th March. Where is this taking place?
Hi Carole,
The consultation will be at our office which is at The Hub, Myrtle Place, Bingley from 10am to 2pm. The small building next to the Arts Centre carpark where the public toilets are.
Thank you
