Bingley Town Council has held four summer markets in 2018 on the first Saturdays of June, July, August and October. The monthly markets have been a pilot. This autumn the Council will decide on what to do in 2019: whether to run further and similar markets or not.
In running the markets, the Town Council has responded to residents’ wishes to see a busy thriving market in Bingley again.
Now your feedback is vital. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey by clicking this link Bingley Market feedback.
Thank you!
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed helping out at the markets and would do so again next year if the markets were to take place.
I think the entertainment really adds atmosphere to the event particularly from 9.30 onwards to encourage people to move on to Market Square from Main Street.
HI,
I ran a stall on the October market and would like to be regular attendee at the markets.
It was a very good market.
Regards,
Ian
Well done everyone for organising the markets. I hope it will grow and prosper from here. Also, the flowers throughout the town are absolutely fantastic. They’ve cheered me on through the months.
just one thing I’m not happy about, the granting of planning permission for the fish restaurant in the station masters house. we have a perfectly good fish shop metre’s away. very unfair on them, and the property was a perfectly good house which could have easily been turned into three social housing flats. something w really, really need.
I am writing this on 8/11/18 so I’m almost certainly too late to effect the decision, and I’ve already completed the survey, but I have just tried to get some information on Bingley market with a view of perhaps starting a stall there. Need insurance, fine; have my own market stall and put it up at the start and finish of each market day, [hesitantly] Ok. Anywhere to store this market stall and perhaps stock? No, we don’t have anything like that.
Perhaps BTC should also look into that, if it really wants to bring back a vibrant market to the town.
Thank you for your comment Mr Barlow and I’ve sent a reply to your personal e-mail address.
Kind Regards
Ruth Batterley
Town Clerk
