At the full Council meeting on 23rd January, Councillors set the Council’s budget for 2018-19 and the precept to be charged to households.
In the next financial year, the precept for a Band D property for a year will be £16.31, an increase of 2.19% on the current year’s amount of £15.96. It means Bingley continues to have one of the lowest town or parish council precepts in Bradford District.
The budget for 2018-19 includes projected costs for the development and refurbishment of the toilet site as described above. Other budget headings include emergency support, regeneration and tourism, Christmas and seasonal events, Green and Clean and Neighbourhood Plan.
The budget for grants to Bingley’s community groups has been increased from £13,000 to £20,000 and we look forward to receiving plenty of applications in the coming year for the projects you want to make happen.
Hello, do you have a calendar of grant application deadlines please? So we can plan in advance.
Many thanks
Hello.
Bingley Town Council consider grant applications three times a year, at the Finance and General Purposes Committee meetings in February, June and October. Completed applications must be received no later than the 1st of the month in which the application is to be considered. Further information about grants can be found in the document section of this website or please get in touch if you’d like to have a chat about it.
Best wishes,
Laura Jowett
Administrative Officer
In next years budget submissions, would it be possible to look at extra money to support an upgrade of the main park to include money for the proper planting and maintenance of the flower beds, so they could become a real source of pride for Bingley. With Bradford Councils cutbacks, it will increasingly become a very limited maintenance regime for the towns park, it would certainly enhance Bingley to have a lovely looking park which we could all enjoy .
