If you are considering a local community tree planting scheme, i suggest looking at the Colne Valley Tree Society facebook page. They started in the early 1960’s and are still very active with a large membership. Since they started they have planted over 500,000 trees, mainly native species and they have made a massive difference to the valley, inparticularly with regard to the actual regeneration of the various villages in the valley. It is no suprise that the front page of the website for the new great northen forest , shows the tree planting the society have undertaken in the Marsden area.

Hello John,
Thanks for getting in touch. I will pass your comment on to the councillors who are working on this.
Best wishes,
