Bingley monthly markets

Bingley Town Council is holding regular discussions with Otley Town Partnership, who run the markets, about a possible date to restart the popular monthly market. Although recent guidance has suggested that open air markets can be opened, it is not yet possible for this to happen for a variety of reasons.

The main reason is that toilet and hand-washing facilities cannot be available for stallholders to use. In general local cafés are generous in allowing the use of their facilities, but even with the possible reopening of cafés, it is unlikely that toilets will be open to customers. The newly refurbished public toilets in the town centre are not likely to be open before the end of August. Also, Bingley Town Council is obliged to provide First Aid at the markets and under current social  distancing guidelines it is not possible to provide this service.

We have a projected date of August 1st for the next market, but this may change and we will keep residents informed. Watch this space for updates.
