Consultation on Resident Permit Parking

It was reported that there is currently a consultation being launched by Bradford Council on residents' parking permits (there will be a potential £35 annual charge imposed for each resident vehicle and £35 for one visitor's parking permit, £40 for the second). This consultation was just launched last week and there are a few areas in Bingley/Bingley Rural which will be affected. Further information, taken from the Bradford Council website, is below:

"As part of an annual review process, the Council has reviewed the costs we charge for permits and are intending to introduce the following pricing structure:

  • A charge of £250 per year for Ilkley Worker Contract and Ilkley Business Permits. Charges for Business and Contract permits, which can paid by instalments throughout the year.
  • A £35 per year charge for Residents and Visitor permits, Special and Health and Social Care Visitors Permits. We reviewed other local authorities in the area and found £35 P/A was the average charging point.
  • An £80 charge per year for Business Permits in residential permit schemes.
  • New charges of £40 per year for an Additional Visitors Permit (note this is a new permit type which may only be accessible to certain schemes).

The charges are in line with other neighbouring local authorities and the income generated helps to preserve existing on street parking and traffic schemes. A copy of the draft Order and the Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Order may be examined during normal office hours at the Customer Services Reception, Ground Floor, City Hall, Bradford BD1 1HY or examined on the council website or obtained from Senior Engineer (Projects), Miguel D'Souza, Planning, Transportation & Highways Service by telephone on 07890 971246 or by email miguel.dsouza@bradford.gov.uk.

If you wish to object to the proposed Order you should send the grounds for your objection in writing either by post to the address below or by email to Objections@bradford.gov.uk to be received no later than 12 noon on 16 September 2024 quoting reference: CORP/PCD/JLF/416027."

If any residents object to the above scheme, please contact Bradford Council directly on the contact details above.
