D Day 80

Bingley Remembrance Group and Bingley Town Council are proud to announce a commemoration ceremony to mark the 80th Anniversary of D Day on Thursday 6th June 2024.

We will honour the service and sacrifice of the D Day heroes by hosting a commemoration ceremony in Bingley Town Square. This will commence at around 8.30pm and will end with the International Tribute and the lighting of a special D Day 80 beacon, in conjunction with communities across the UK, overseas territories and along the beaches of Normandy.

Our Bingley Detachment Cadets, 3rd Bingley Sea Scouts, Spen Valley Marching Band and All Saints Choir will be attending, as well as the Lord Lieutenant. We invite all Veterans and members of the public to attend this very special event, to pay tribute to all the brave men and women who served.

The bells of All Saint Parish Church will also ring at 6.30pm, also in conjunction with all towns and cities.
