Bingley Five Rise 250 Years

Many thanks to all residents and visitors who attended the festival to celebrate the 250th anniversary of Five Rise Locks on Saturday 23rd March. It was a wonderful atmosphere and great to see so many people come together to enjoy the festivities. We would like to send thanks to the following companies/organisations for helping to make the day possible.

To RSH Artisan Markets for putting in extra measures and allowing the market to go ahead, despite the wild windy weather and to the market traders and community group stalls.

To Bingley Music Town for arranging the music and the bands: Playing for Kicks, Sisters of Rebellion, Fiddle & Fleet, Rum Doodle and Izak Wilkinson. Also, to Hall Royd Brass Band and Otley Wayzgoose Morris Dancers. The Market Square was certainly lively!

To the All Saints Church bell ringers, Kaleidoscope Youth Theatre, Action Stations, Airedale Boat Club and Walkers are Welcome for guiding people to the locks.

To all the businesses who put on special window displays and special offers for the day, and Bingley Brewery for the themed beer. To Chivers Solicitors for the banners and BRSK for the window dressing prize.

To Damart for the use of their cafeteria and carparks and, not forgetting, Bradford Council and, of course, the Canal & River Trust.
