Bingley Neighbourhood Area Application Consultation.

Residents of Bingley are being encouraged to have their say on the future of their local community.

Bingley Town Council has submitted a request to be designated as ‘Neighbourhood Area’ in order to start preparing a Neighbourhood Development Plan. A Neighbourhood Area is an area, usually a parish area, to which a proposed Neighbourhood Development Plan will relate.

Neighbourhood Development Plans are a means to enable local people to have greater say over any form of development in their communities, under the Localism Act.

Public consultation on the application starts on Thursday 13th July and runs for 4 weeks until Thursday 10th August. This is the first stage in the process of producing a Neighbourhood Development Plan.

The application contains a proposed boundary for the Neighbourhood Area along with a brief statement on why the local council and the boundary are appropriate.

At this stage the consultation is only in relation to the Neighbourhood Area application.  Further engagement will take place in the local community in due course as the neighbourhood development plan is prepared by the Town Council.

The consultation documents and comment forms are available online at: http://www.bradford.gov.uk/consultations and Bingley Town Council would encourage residents to share their views and have a say.
