The Annual Governance and Accountability Return (AGAR) for 2023-24 for Bingley Town Council has been sent to the external auditor for approval: please see the links below for the 'Notice for Public Rights and Publication of Unaudited Annual Governance and Accountability Return' and 'A Summary of Your Rights' for further information on the exercise of public rights relating to the annual accounts, and also the AGAR 2023-24 including 'Section 1 Annual Governance Statement' and 'Section 2 The Accounting Statements'.

The Town Council's current internal auditor is Rachel Pearson of Account-Ant Yorkshire Limited.

The Town Council has two internal audits per year - an interim audit mid-year and a year-end audit at the end of every financial year.

The Town Council agrees the Budget for the following financial year annually in January, which sets the precept for the year also.

The precept is what residents pay on top of council tax to keep the Town Council operating. It enables us to provide services and projects which enhance Bingley as a place in which to live, work and visit.

This year the precept was set at £238,290, which is £27.75 for a Band D property and a 0.14% decrease on last year's figure. Last year the precept was set at £238,242, which is £27.79 for a Band D property, and was a 0.19% decrease on the previous year's figure.
