The Town Council is holding a meeting to update residents about Priestthorpe Annex on Monday 6 November from 7.30pm to 8.30pm at the Methodist Church on Mornington Road.

The Annex, also known as the former Technical School, has stood empty since 2002. Over the years, it has fallen into disrepair and become an eyesore, increasingly more derelict.

Bingley Town Council, responding to residents’ concerns, has pressed Bradford Metropolitan District Council, which owns the Annex, to take action. The Town Council has also now managed to gain information about the condition of the building and will be sharing this at the meeting on Monday.

Cllr Ros Dawson, Chair of Bingley Town Council, said: “The report we have received on the dilapidated state of this once magnificent building makes sad and grim reading. Many residents are very concerned about the Annex and we believe they need to know the details and have the opportunity to discuss the issues.”

Anyone interested in the Annex is very welcome to attend the meeting. Afterwards, comments will be collated and considered by Bingley Town Council at its November meeting with the likelihood of feedback to Bradford Council.
