Bingley Town Council has sent out a monthly email newsletter since August 2016. The first four were simple emails, but all subsequent mailings were produced in MailChimp.

Please see below for links to MailChimp mailings, or copies of email newsletters, sent in 2016.

Subject: Mailing from Bingley Town Council – no. 4

Dear Bingley residents and friends,

This mailing is a little earlier than usual, but we wanted to bring two specific items to your attention.

1) Bingley Town Council newsletter

The Town Council’s first newsletter has just come back from the printer, and I’m attaching a PDF copy for you all now.

Please do share it with anyone you think may be interested. There are printed copies being distributed about town, to libraries, doctor’s surgeries, local businesses and other popular venues. Again, if you pick one of these up, do share it with others so we can get our news out as far as possible.

We hope you find it useful, and look forward to receiving your feedback.

2) Canal Festival

This is the first canal festival to have taken place in Bingley, and it’s all happening on Sunday 16th October – see the poster attached. It’s a celebration of the 200th anniversary of the full opening of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal.

We’re grateful to Bradford Council and the Canal and River Trust for spearheading the event, and hope many of you will be able to come out and enjoy what should be an excellent day of activities and entertainment.

Our next mailing will be in mid-November. Please do forward this email to anyone you think will be interested, and encourage them to sign up for future mailings at

Our interim website has agendas and minutes of meetings and other useful reports and documents. You’ll find it at

You’ll find us on Facebook too – BingleyTownCouncil

September 2016 – no. 3 (email)

Sent: 16 September 2016 20:16
Subject: Mailing from Bingley Town Council – no. 3

Dear Bingley residents and friends,

Here is your third mailing from Bingley Town Council, with brief information on some aspects of the Council’s recent work and an upcoming event.

We have three main items this month:

1) Grants for community groups

Grants of up to £2,000 can now be applied for by voluntary and community groups in the parish. The new grant scheme aims to support projects which strengthen the community and enhance the well-being of residents and their environment.

The Council will normally decide on grant applications three times per year in June, October and February, and applications should be received by the Town Clerk no later than the 1st day of the month in which you wish your application to be considered. For full details, please contact Ruth Batterley, Town Clerk, at Cardigan House, Ferncliffe Road, Bingley BD16 2TA;; tel: 07703 188660. (Ruth has recently been appointed to a permanent position as Bingley’s Town Clerk – welcome Ruth!)

2) Action on derelict buildings

The Council is taking action to tackle a number of derelict sites in Bingley: the Station Master’s House, the former Technical Institute and the Sainsburys/former BBBS site. The attached report was submitted to the Council in June and work on the report’s recommendations is ongoing.

3) Second community litter pick

This will be taking place in Crossflatts on Thursday 6th October, from 4 pm to 6 pm, when we’ll be meeting outside the Post Office on Keighley Road. Please put the date in your diary and come and help us if you can. All equipment provided! Details are on the attached poster, and please share it far and wide if you can.

Our interim website now has agendas and minutes of meetings and other useful reports and documents. You’ll find it at

Look out for the Council’s first newsletter which is now in the final stages of preparation.

And finally, please do forward this email to anyone you think will be interested, and encourage them to sign up for future mailings at

August 2016 – no. 2 (email)

Sent: 16 August 2016 22:47
Subject: Mailing from Bingley Town Council – no. 2

Dear Subscriber,

Many of you attended the Planning Roadshow in Gilstead on 14th July, and we hope this gave you the information you needed to respond to Bradford Council’s consultation on land allocations for housing development. We are pleased to attach a copy of Bingley Town Council’s own response to the consultation.

Also attached are two documents produced for Bingley Show which give contact details and other useful information about the council and initial activities. Apologies to those of you who have already seen these; as the mailing list has increased in size considerably since they were first mailed out, we thought it was important to send them out again for the benefit of new subscribers.

Please note that we are currently in the early stages of developing a website, but in the meantime those of you who use Facebook will find Bingley Town Council at

We hope this is helpful and of interest. Please do let us have your feedback so that we can ensure we provide you with the information you need.
